Users of CCW Moonclip Holders, Please Step Inside
I am looking for single moonclip holders, for use in IDPA, for a 646 revolver. CCW (Cal Comp Works) makes different models, but none are listed as suitable for the 646. If somebody out there has a CCW Moonclip holder, with either the red or blue center post, could you please measure the post with a caliper or micrometer, as shown below?
Please post dimensions here or PM me. Thanks.
Adios,
Pizza Bob

Check out the moonclip holders from Ready Tactical. I haven't used them but have used their speedloader holders and am quite impressed. The person who told me about the speedloader holders uses the Ready Tactical moonclip holders for his 625.

Thanks OKFC05. I know I looked at that website, but completely missed that holder. I intend to use the Ready Tactical "stacked" holder in front of the holster, but wanted a single carrier for the one moonclip allowed behind the holster. Thanks again.
Adios,
Pizza Bob

Bob,
It sounds like you're contemplating some IDPA usage. Take a look at the North Mountain single post holder. It holds either one or two moonclips and is IDPA approved. It's legal to put one in front of the holster and one behind. That gives you your initial load (from the back one) and three spares, per the rulebook.
I use the four post holder in USPSA - slick, fast, and secure.

I use both the ready tactical and several different types from the 4wheelguns site also. IDPA, ICORE, USPSA, and CCW. They all get used one way or another.
For CCW I lean toward Ready Tactical just because it is easier to get on/off my belt. But if I am going to be very active I will go toward the single carrier from 4 wheelguns that will allow me to stack one on top of another.
