Hi, I have two questions about shooting prone with my Davis Custom PPC revolver.

(1) When shooting prone, I frequently get blasted in the cheek by something. I assume it's the blast from the cylinder gap bouncing off the ground because I get blasted much more often when I'm prone. Is this normal? The cylinder gap is .008 by my measurement. I use the Speere and Remington hbwc bullets.

(2) I wear eyeglasses. When shooting prone, it tends to slide down to where I have trouble seeing until I readjust them. Is there a solution, besides spending big bucks on shooting eyeglasses?

When I'm shooting pistols, my Pro Ears muff type hearing protectors hold my eyeglasses in place and protect what's left of my hearing.
If I had used them from the first, I wouldn't say "Huh?" so much now.

Just like OKFC my hearing protection helps keep my seeing glasses in place when shooting prone. No issues with the glasses sliding around, neither my regular glasses or my shooting glasses move.

As for being hit by stuff in prone, it could be the gases at the gap blowing sand and whatnot plus a bit of unburned powder. At some ranges, think really dry and dusty ranges, the prone position really kicks up a lot of dust and dirt. At the Albuquerque range, after one run at the 50 it feels like my semi-auto has been packed with clover compound from all the dust kicked up.
