Default uspsa steel matches

Does anyone have a recommendation for the carry optic class in speed steel shooting... What's the preferred gun/optic combo.

I am thinking the 9mm core in the 4.5 inch barrel.. but unsure of which optic.

Thanks

Well, here we go again trying to pick the "perfect rig" before getting in there and shooting the matches, borrowing other's guns and seeing what everybody is using. I get similar questions every month, and my answer is always the same: get out to the matches with whatever gun you now have, look at all the different rigs. Most people will let you try theirs after the match if you ask. My perfect rig may not be what you finally choose. One of the most popular optics is now being returned for full refunds.

Actually I have been shooting steel for a while competing in the RFPO class using a volquartson/ Paclite

Have no interest in the full open class but saw where they have added the carry optic class. Just have not seen anyone yet at our local matches shooting that class and was looking for a bit of input from a wider base here on the forum. At age 69 my iron site days are probably in the past so was happy to see something with optics that will not require the cost of the full open guns out there.

Agree that there is no perfect gun out there but with info one can often make a better informed choice.

Thanks
