Default Choosing Red Dot for 6" 686

Joined a local club and like shooting the falling plate match, been using Grandpa's model 10 and didn't want to modify it.
Bought a new 686 6" and learning how to reload, I does make a difference. I shot bullseye match and wasn't prepared for one handed shooting but had fun.
Now I want to add a dot scope to the 686, but I don't care for a tube type of scope, any thoughts on a dot scope? Price is not a factor , I get it good stuff ain't cheep and cheep stuff ain't good .
Thanks for any advise

the burris fast fire is reliable n will do nice groups at 25 yards.
target acquisition is slower than a tube tho.
this is a midrange priced dot, around $225.
you can do better for $500.

Chris..Look at the thread on IHMSA in Gainesville ..You will see two 629 44magnums with red dots...They are Leaper UTGs and can be had from
Midway for $30 shipped...That same dot came standard on my 629 PC Hunter..APP 10,000 rds on those scopes...One failed @ 1760 and S&W replaced it free of charge...Weigand mount $40 and $30 UTG, your ready to go..Spend the rest on ammo

Most popular Red Dot used in USPSA and Steel Challenge is the C-More. You can order direct from them and choose the size of the dot you want. Bigger is better. I use a 16 minute dot and love it. It never washes out in the bright sun and can be turned down enough for indoor or night shooting.

I had the Fast Fire III but found that smoke from the cylinder would cover my optic after a few rounds and was very hard to clean off.

As you can see I'm a fan of the J Point Reflex sight. Because it features a mount that keeps the sight to the rear of the revolver and sits quite low on the frame which reduces Convergence.

Purchased 2 more J Point Reflex sights, range report.-j-point-1-jpg

I really like the Burris Fastfire III on an Allchin mount.
