Default Thinking of changing USPSA Division

Our local club is having a USPSA match on Sat. and instead of revolver, I am thinking about using my M&P Pro 9mm and shooting Limitied instead....get to load mags to capacity which is nice on a longer field course.....

anyone else change divisions? Anyone else use the Pro 9mm and 17 rnd mags in Limited?

Randy

I enjoy shooting revolver. But most of the time the stages are No where near revolver friendly and can be a PITA with a six shooter.

Last year I picked up a S&W 929 and it was a game changer..
But, sometimes it's just fun not to have to reload a half dozen times per stage..

I've been shooting limited this year with my STI Edge 9mm , 20 round mags.

I have a buddy that is using his M&P Pro,, and doing quite well with it... Good Luck,, Have fun..

( edit: get a couple Arredondo's or Taylor Freelance mag extensions / bumpers and run 140 mm, 20 rd. mags. )

I got classified in all the USPSA divisions just for the heck of it , shooting all-classifier matches.
I used the 5" Pro for Production, Limited, and Open, and IMHO I was just shooting Limited and Open with it for grins only. Gotten eaten alive every time by the real Limited and Open guns with max legal magazines, single-action triggers, heavy weight, and in Open, comps and optics.
With the changes in Revolver Division, I pretty much shoot Production in USPSA routinely.

Everyone I know who changed from Production to Limited very quickly bought mag extensions. (Taran Tactical will give you 23 reloadable rounds in the 140mm version). Going from 10 rounds to 17 only whets your appetite to have more (kinda like the corner drug dealer) I usually help out by letting them try one of my mags in a stage, maybe I could get some kickback from Taran because they all immediately ordered some for themselves. Here's a couple of pictures. The first is stock 17 rounders, the next is of some 140mm next to a 170mm on the end (I shoot open so it gives me 28 + 1) Those mags are Taylor Freelance, I use both TF and TT, the TT's are easier to reload but TF is the only one who makes a 170 for an M&P (AFAIK)

Many years ago we used to shoot multiple classes in our monthly club match. I found it a little easier to reach B class with a 1911 than a revolver. I never did get any higher, but then I didn't practice much back then, I was lucky to make the monthly match.

I love revolver shooting in USPSA, but often there is only one other out of 60 participants!
Just to shoot and not think, I use my Springfield XDM 9 mm with 19 round mags in Limited.

Back when I competed many of us used to shoot and re-shoot in another class.

I'd always shoot open with a race gun and then re-shoot with a limited gun.

Many times we'd have a snubby/BUG, or shotgun, or carbine side match too. Fun times.
