Default Steel Challenge Gun- SW22 Victory

I have been shooting revolvers in Steel Challenge competition since 2012. I am going to try this gun in the next match. Should be interesting.

Good luck. Take lots of photos. What ammo will you use?

Today I shot about 100 rounds of Federal Match Target in the orange box. I had a few FTE. I switched to CCI standard velocity and had no problems. In the match I will shoot CCI. They seem to run great in everything I have.

Thumbs up

That looks a lot like the one I ran at a steel match this Wed. evening. It ran great with Federal AutoMatch.

I switched the comp to a Volquartsen forward blow.

It looks good. I don't know yet what the difference will be.

Any ideas?

I did something similar with my Ruger 22/45 lite.

I had a TK custom comp on there and found it really didn't help with muzzle flip to any measurable degree. More importantly, I found it made the gun unnecessarily loud and gave it a tenancy to spit gas /powder back into my face from time to time. ( Both distracting) I switched to a forward facing "comp" and am very happy. Not only is the spitting problem cured but it's 200% quieter.

The guys that shoot the SW22 at our Steel Challenge, me included, all shoot the Federal AutoMatch. I periodically see this cartridge cussed on the internet for one reason or another, but it seems to be comfort food for the Victory. I see no reason to change yet.

Winner said....yes,I do!!I've lost in the past for the same reason(faulty ammo)told myself IF it happened in a match & I could give the other shooter a do over I would. He was told...yeah...but this is for $$$ & you WON.He said, makes no diff."Let's do it again"!! They did & he won!!Class act!!

I use the Federal AutoMatch as well. It works great in both my 617 and auto. I was smart enough to buy 50 boxes when the price was right.
