Default First time 500...ever......

in practice!

I have struggled this year in a LEO match. This year I have shot the day before a match in hopes I would improve.

Both revolver and semi auto.

Using my worn out 686 4" and 148 wadcutter

5 yds (2 shots 3 seconds X 4)
7 yds (12 shots 25 seconds)
15 yds (12 shots 35 seconds)
25 yds (18 shots 90 seconds)

all point shoulder. Now if I can do this tomorrow when it counts.

I also shot a practice match with my Colt 1911 using 200 LSWC (497/500). also had a funny round go off and was very soft recoil which affected my follow through which is the round in the 9 at the 8 o'clock position. I am lost as to what happened with that soft round. I did have issues seating primers with my 550B.

now let see what happens at the match....

No cigar today.

little mistakes were costly through out the year.

I fell in 2nd place overall this year by 2 points in revolver and 9 points in semi auto. DANG!

1st match
a sloppy 496/500 with my revolver

2nd match
496/500 semi auto

3rd match
make up match
496/500 semi auto
(I intended to hold a little right at the 25 yard line but forgot too)

4th match
make up match
498/500 revolver

oh well, there is next year.

Very nice groups. I shot my first match yesterday. PPC and Service A good friend of mine got me to try it at his gun club... Needless to say I'm going to join his gun club so I can shoot on there league. I had a great time. My friend let me use his Sprinfield XD No practice and never shot his gun before Got 465 out 0f 600 in Service class and 520 out of the PPC class same shooting format for both. So I did improve after the first round. Lots of fun!! Now I'm looking for a new semi auto to shoot PPC.
