Question What BUG do you shoot in IDPA?

Given that IDPA has changed BUG definitions, my M&P 9C no longer fits the new BUG definition. So looking for feedback, thoughts on what you all use for your BUG guns in IDPA, as I am now on the hunt for a new BUG.

I'm considering either a Shield or a "gasp", a Glock 43.

Thoughts?

6 shots are no longer approved for BUG revolvers, much to my displeasure (as I have a M64 2")

And under the 1/1/2017 rules, there is only one BUG division, and the classifier is built around 6 shot strings. That seems to say "revolvers in BUG lose every time to the semi-auto BUGS."

Yup, am not real happy, but it is what it is.

I bought a P320 SubCompact hoping to use it as a BUG. The new rules say NO-NO, the barrel is too long. So, I'm in the CCP division. With the short subcompact grip, I purchased some mag base extensions for added length. They weigh 1.9 oz each. I now discovered the mag extension weight limit has been changed for 2017 to 1.5 oz max. I haven't shot a match this new season and I already hate the new rules. Have you seen the 4" circle head shot area for a -0 ?

Real friends don't let friends shoot Glocks.

I'm shooting my S&W M60 and M19 2-1/2" guns in IDPA against revolvers with 4" and 4.2" barrels, and I just bought a third M19 2-1/2" snub.

In Canada, 4" guns and less are "prohibited" which means if you aren't currently "grandfathered", you can't own one.

2016 IDPA rules for Revolver Division allowed 4.25" or LESS barrels. In Revolver BUG, barrels must be 3" or LESS, so my snubs were eligible in both classes.

My only concern is being able to knock down steel when we start shooting outdoors again. I haven't chrono'd my loads, but I'm shooting 158 gr RNFPs and I believe that will meet the power factor of 105.

I haven't seen the 2017 rules yet re: there being only ONE BUG category. None of our younger shooters are "grandfathered" so I need not worry about being outgunned by a pip squeak semi-auto.
