Coulda, and shoulda. But my "official" Field Pistol Any Sight entry was a Dave Chaney Memorial, using his 25-20 Contender. Not many rounds out of it, yet, but shot 40/60, which was good enough for a shoot-off for the FPAS title. Came up one short to the match director, so happy about that. The stupid part is the 629-6 "High Rise" that I shot as a re-entry managed a 42/60, which would have taken the win.
The rather more astonishing result was a 42/60 in Field Pistol (iron sights) using the 29-3 10 5/8" revolver. Completely blew it on Rams, managing only 4 of 15. (Did hit one more solidly, but it decided not to go down!!!!) So most of that entry was outstanding. The winner shot a 45/60, using a Contender in .22 Hornet.
Very cool, windy, and often rainy three days of shooting. But folk were having a good time, and we had a good post-match dinner with door prizes.
Some photos:
The 629-6 with the new scope. Hasn't helped scores at all, upgrading from the used pawn shop $39.95 Simmons scope!
Still chugging along. But about time to clean the outside.
May or March???
