Default IDPA Bug - r approved guns

I drew the 6 1/2 x 4 5/8 box, and my J frame 1 7/8”with boot grips barely fits. If it had a 2 1/2” barrel, no way. My SP101 2 1/4” is way too big to fit in as the grip base extends too far.

This seems very limited in choices. Am I missing something?

There is nothing "fair" about BUG-R; it has to fit the box, and then when you shoot "BUG" Division, the 5 shot revolvers are lumped in with the BUG-S 6 shot semi-autos for Division scoring.
Basically you are shooting BUG-R for grins as far as scoring goes.

Revolvers are not a priority with IDPA management, who are concerned mostly with the higher level matches, not local matches or your real daily carry, IMHO. BUG division is optional (and almost never seen) above Tier 1 matches.
