Default Stock M&P’s in competition

Anyone else using a stock M&P? Just started shooting USPSA and shot a Glock 22 in Limited for my first match, then tried a Glock 17 and finally my M&P 2.0 3.6”. I know shooting a 9mm in Limited is only getting Minor Power factor, but I’m only competing against myself at this point.

I settled on the M&P 3.6 because I seem to shoot it better and I’m more comfortable with it for whatever reason. Stock trigger, two 15 rd mags and two 17 rd mags, regular belt holster.

I will probably move to Production and shoot either the G17 Gen5 or the M&P 3.6. I’ll eventually get a belt rig and probably switch to a steel frame at some point. But for now, it’s the stock 3.6.

Just started USPSA myself. I am shooting a Glock 17 also. I have used it in GSSF matches so it is not new to me.

I will admit to not doing real well, but it is fun. I am left handed and have some arthirtis in it. Will keep up the sport even if I am not that good. Trigger time should help me improve.

I started IDPA and USPSA with my 1.0. Worked well for me, though I moved to other platforms and my wife now uses it when she shoots IDPA with me.

Basically did 2 modifications, put apex trigger in and Ameriglo front sight on.

I do like the M&P, good gun for the money and very ergonomic for me and my wife.

I started USPSA in 2018 to validate my every day carry gear and improve my self-defense skills.

Texas License To Carry. S&W M&P M2.0 9mm 5inch, carried openly in a Safariland 7TS ALS with Guard and QLS on a Kore Essentials leather gun belt. Only modification is to install Dawson Precision fiber optic charger sights. I run in Limited.

I've been shooting USPSA with M&Ps. Started out with the M&P 40C using full size mags with XGrips, Blackhawk Serpa holster, and a couple of double mag carriers on the belt. Later I replaced the 40C with a 40FS with standard sights. After a few years hiatus from competition I decided to make a serious effort at USPSA Production. I'm now shooting an M&P Pro Series 2.0/5". Big improvement in the trigger, and the fiber optic sights are quicker on target. Also, Federal's new Syntech Action Pistol ammo works great in this gun.

I have friends that shoot essentially stock M&P in idpa/ssp div. You are competing against sim guns so not a real handicap. Some guys like shooting smaller guns, I love my g19, shoot it better than my g34.

Apex trigger is a huge improvement to the gun.

I run a stock M&P .40 in Limited 10 USPSA and in IDPA with very good results.
Never saw any reason to put an Apex kit into it, just kept on getting better as I shot it.

Yup, fully agree. One of the reasons I kept the gun and didn’t swap it for a 2.0 version
