I am astigmatic and have been since a child. I am 66 and now wear bifocals also. Fortunately my wife is a doctor of optometry so I get a prescription for my regular glasses that allow me to shoot with regular handgun sights or a red dot. I would talk to my eye care professional.

That said, I have noticed that some red dots do better for me than others. I find it easier to use the tube type Vortex red dots than the Burris FastFire 3 I have installed on a rifle.

I bought a FastFire II, used, and When looking through it I saw a cluster of three dots. I thought it was busted and practically gave it away, only to find out later I had cataracts. (When I started seeing four red lights when there was only one)

After surgery, all of my red dots are tight little dots, not the fuzzy blobs they used to be.
