Default Safariland Comp III speedloaders - Do they wear out?

The reason I asked....

*my L frame ones are around 10+ years old
*they are difficult to remove from the L frame Safariland tray
*the usual click when you lock rounds in is delayed. Meaning turn and let go and about 1-2 seconds later.... "CLICK"

yesterday at a match.... I had several fails.

I dont know if it was me or the speedloader, but the rounds dumped but stuck in the speedloader causing me to take precious seconds to fix and then I had to throw my gun up and increase my rate of fire.... causing two 9's from the 15 yard line.

2nd issue.... had rounds dump pulling from the tray.

3rd issue.... on another match from the 25 yard line... the rounds dumped early on top of the cylinder but not lined up on the holes. Luckily a few seconds of easy manipulation and the rounds fell in.

The tightness on removing from the trays started a few years ago but now am having rounds dump. Last year, these speedloaders were dropped in sand and were crunchy. I took them apart to clean (yes.... drifted out the blind roll pin)

I will replace but just curious if comp III users have more time on theirs or had similar issues?

thanks in advance

Here are my two 9s from 15 yards.... my concentration was definitely affected by these two that I essentially sprayed to make the time.

and then my screw ups at 25 yards (493/500)

my 2nd revolver match with the reload mishap 496/500

I need to raise my POI

I have used Comp IIIs since they came out. They are good speed loaders, but have some problems over the course of time. I have modded and rebuilt mine, so they are still working, but they do take some maintenance to keep going. The easy fix is to switch over to Jet loaders. I would be using them if the Safarilands didn't work. I had a lot of Sf before I found out about Jet.

If your comp 111 `s are dirty they can be washed in a dishwasher or washed in sink like dishes and dried. No joke. It works.

jimbo728 IS CORRECT.
RINSING THEM OUT UNDER RUNNING WATER IS THE WAY TO GO. FROM THE BOTTOM , THAN SHAKING THEM OUT OR BLOW THEM DRY WITH THE AIR HOSE. I ALSO LAY THEM IN THE SUN TO COOK A LITTLE BIT OR FINISH DRY WITH A HAIR DRIER. JP

I took them apart last year and they were cleaned of all debris.

I am hard on equipment and noticed the delayed click (to lock in the rounds) this year.

Never had dropped/dumped rounds before.
