Default Romeo 3 max pro issue

Last week I bought a Sig Romero3 Max Pro for a Smith 686 Competitor revolver. Shooting reduced load 38 special rounds I shot 300 rounds over two days and at the 300 round count the zero jumped 4 inches left and 2 inches low. I had checked the zero every 50 shots up to that point for zero and it was solid. I checked the mount and it was secure and also checked the tracking of the dot on a collimator and it tracked correctly. I am at a loss for the reason the sight failed. A friend just purchased a Trigicon SRO and had to send it back because the dot didn't work correctly which steered me away from that model. Are there any solid red dots out there you can count on?

The more affordable ones I've seen that people seem to like are the Leupold Delta and Burris Fastfire III.

+1 for the Burris Fastfire. I have a Fastfire 2 and a Fastfire 3. The #2 dot is not intensity adjustable, it automatically adjusts for ambient light. Mine does a good job in outdoors light and is a 4 MOA dot. The #3 has dot intensity adjustments, and can be automatic on one of the settings, it is a 3 MOA. The 3-4 MOA dots are great for bullseye and slow fire plinking. The Fastfire is available with a 6 MOA dot which I would recommend for any kind of action shooting.
