I didn't win but I had a great time. Some crud got under my extractor star at one point, but I just cleaned it out and kept going. My gun was filthy before the match. I guess I should have cleaned it, but a real shooter's gun is seldom clean, right?

I think some of the guys got a chuckle out of my gun when they first saw it, but after the match I don't think they thought it was funny anymore.

One of the stages was low light and I don't have night sights and my sights are black. One guy commented how hard it was going to be for me to hit the targets. I told him I just shut my eyes and shoot like crazy.

Overall I was slow time wise because of the additional reloads, but my accuracy was good. I was clean or only 2 or 3 points down for each phase.

All I can say is a 2" Model 10 is a glorious weapon.

I shot an IDPA match with a Colt Cobra once.
By the middle of it I was "bandaging" my fingers with target pasters.
It was fun until then.

If I shoot another with a snubnose it will be with my M15. More weight, better grips and better sights.

What ammunition were you using? I've been toying with the idea of trying my model 67 on IDPA but am concerned about making the Minor power factor. The only thing I've been able to find locally is Federal TMJ +P LE range loads and currently my local range wants any range ammo shot in house.

Yeah, I should really be doing my own loading but the lack of primers and the lack of funds has put those plans on hold. Right now all I can do is save all my brass for the day when I can start loading my own.

Dave: Just for grins, I'm going to shoot my 3" 624 this Sat. in an IPSC match. Couldn't care less how I compare to others, just having fun exercising a revolver I really enjoy shooting. Glad to know there are others who have the same mindset.

My last 2" 10 production, a 10-11 made 1/03 (from S&W!) and bought new from CDNN 9/03 for the hideous sum of $280, is uncannily accurate. As a part-time public range RO, I suffered a lot of boredom when shooters weren't present. The 2" 10 was a lot of entertainment - with 125-158gr LRNFP/LSWC, Berry's plated, or even JHPs. My homebrews are fun in this revolver. Once you find the drop for your round at 100-110yd, the steel rifle plates there are fair game. Fun shooter - almost hate that I have to clean it, reload it with 158gr LHPSWCs, and secret it away as a house gun. Heck, any 10, 15, 64, or 67 is just too much fun to hide away.
