Default Protocall Design, LLC

Protocall Design is proud to be serving members of the Smith & Wesson Forums. As fellow gun enthusiasts, we look forward to providing innovative products that fulfill your needs in competition or otherwise.

We have a full machine shop, primarily dedicated to prototypes, but we also do small to medium runs of products that have been
designed in-house.

Warren Moore, the owner, has over 40 years in machining. He has attended the Bianchi Cup annually for 25 years, competing in the revolver class. A number of top Bianchi Cup competitors use our products.

Many of our products are sold under different brand names through various retailers. We also do prototype design work for military applications and for inventors.

We decided to become a vendor on this forum to reach a dedicated market and directly serve you. We look forward to building as solid a reputation as a vendor here in the forum as we have with our other business relationships in the bricks & mortar world.

We do not perform gunsmithing services, and recommend that our products be installed by competent gunsmiths.

Protocall Design makes and sells aftermarket fiber optic and black Patridge sights for S&W revolvers. We also have a modification kit for the Hogue PowerSpeed Universal holster, to convert it from a semi-auto holster to a revolver holster, and other products for NRA Action Pistol (Bianchi Cup).

Please look at our products on our website.

Front sight options:

These stock sights are .100" wide (thinner than normal, which is .125" wide) x 3/4" long, with the following options:

1) Style - Pin-on, Classic Style Patridge, or dovetail (V-Comp & Competitor

2) Sight - All Black or 1mm Fiber Optic (FO).

3) Color - If Fiber Optic, please indicate: green, red, or orange

3) Height - .200", .250", or .300" tall.

Below are some pictures of different sight options, starting with a picture of the muzzle of a gun with a classic sight:

We don't currently have any dovetail sight photos, but we do carry those, as well as making custom sights.

Front sight bases for quick-change sights

We have added quick-change sight bases to our product line. These are 1/4" square by 1 1/2" long, shorter than the factory sight bases, and without the spring detent that can allow you to lose your sight if it is inadvertently pressed against an obstacle.

To change the sight, screw the front set screw out halfway and swap! A 6-48 mounting screw is included, but this base does not come with a sight.

To order, please contact us via PM, or visit our website at Protocall Design. Follow any of the links on the page banner to see our products, our prices, our shipping and payment methods, support, and links of interest.

We don't put contact info on the website anymore because we were getting a lot of spam phone calls and e-mails, so instead, we have a form for you to fill out, which will e-mail us. When you fill out that form, Tracy will get an e-mail. She's the first contact for orders or questions.

Thanks!

Hope this isn't too far afield, but how did you come up with the name of the company? It's an interesting link, or maybe not (?) to protocol.

The company motto is "For Your Prototypes, Call Us." Proto Call. Also, when manufacturing products, we follow best practice protocols.

Good idea. We'll get something up. Until then, you mill a .250 wide by .125 deep by 1.500 long groove in the top of the barrel. Drill and tap a #6-48 hole .500 from the back of the slot. Clean everything with solvent. Put LocTite in the groove and threaded hole. Screw the sight base on. Done.

You mill the original sight base down to the top of the rib, then go down 1/8" from there for the new base groove.
