Default Original Registration Certificate for RMs

Does anyone know if the SWHF or Jinks has any records of the names of purchasers who sent in the post card for a registration certificate? I am researching my RM through the dealer to find the name of the buyer and would like to know if it was registered. Thanks
Fred

You need to send for a factory letter to Mr. Jinks. The cost is $50.00. The current wait is about 20 weeks. If the gun was registered the factory letter will tell you. I don't know how the dealer can help you with the research. Unless the dealer has paperwork from the original purchaser, he cannot tell. The SWHF has a lot of information on RM's. They do not release information until they receive a copy of the original history letter you received from Mr. Jinks.

I have the letter from Jinks and all the docs from SWCA. The question is in general: Did S&W keep a record of the names of registered owners?

Individually recorded, yes (I expect this is how such information can be retrieved). A single document, file or book with all registration requests or certificate recipients, probably not.

This is confusing. Do you have the documents from the S&W Historical Foundation (which is different than the Collectors Association)? If so, they should show who the original purchaser was.
