Default Abbreviated Letter?

I was delighted at the calligraphy letters offered at the symposium. With the change in historical letter handling I wondered if the short form of letter might become an option. I have several guns that I would love to know their original destination but really don't care about the configuration details. I would be happy to pay 25 or 35 bucks bucks for this info on guns that I wouldn't ordinarily spend the 75 (or 65) for the whole nine yards. Even after watching Roy work at the symposium I'm not sure that less time is required to provide a date and destination. Just a though. Thanks.

I'm a SWHF member and am not really sure what calligraphy letters you are talking about.

Could you elaborate? Is this a S&WCA thing?

This was a special deal for SWCA members attending the annual symposium in Baton Rouge as part of a fund raiser. The letter was done in caligraphy through the work of Jean Jinks. It contained the requestor's name, the model, ship date and destination only. They are beautiful and much enjoyed.

Below is an example of an "abbreviated" letter referred to in the post above. The first offering of these letters was at the S&WCA meeting in Spokane last year and offered this year at our meeting in Baton Rouge. At present, it is planned to only offer these letters at S&WCA meetings.

A good reason to be a member of both the S&WHF and the S&WCA!!!!
