Default Question, 1952/1953 records?

I'm researching a .357 NRM that was shipped in 1940.

I had the gun lettered and also received follow up info from the SWHF. This included 1940 correspondence between the factory and the original owner, a Sarasota Deputy Sheriff.

The gun was returned to the factory for rework as noted on the frame: 12/52 and 12/53.

Is there any update as to when the 1950's records will be digitized or in a format that they can be searched?

I don't know if the original owner returned the gun in 1952 or not... all I have is the serial number and the 2 rework dates. I would like to find out what was done and who owned the gun at the time.

The gun was originally shipped as a 3 1/2" nickle and is now blued. Roy felt confident that the re-blue was a S&W factory re-blue.

Thanks!

Linda...Send me the serial number and I will look in the records. There are some repair and return records included, but not many. We may get lucky.

We have digitized and indexed the records from 1947- to the early 60s, but nearly all of the records are invoices of shipments made by S&W. There is no correspondence as it was all destroyed.
