Default Model 610 manufacture date

Recently acquired a 610 no-dash, couldn’t be happier with the pistol. Can anyone tell me the date of manufacture?
Serial # bfc27**. Also, its a clean gun (not damaged at all, just surface scratches and dull) but I have thought of having it professionally polished. Would that affect value after doing so? Thanks in advance.

If you are in possession of the original box, the date of manufacture is printed on the end label as a 4 digit code under the heading "SPEC ORD"

If you do not have the original box, all the records will show is the ship date of the firearm

Based on your serial number we can approximate the date of manufacture based on the lists printed in the SCSW.

Unfortunately, I am about 200 miles from my SCSW at the moment

Almost anything you do to a firearm will alter it's value. My standing is "Who Cares"

I want to enjoy it the way that I want it.

If 10 or 20 or 30 years down the road when I sell the firearm, it's value is $100 one way or the other so what?

You bought a used firearm, not a pristine, Unfired since leaving the factory safe queen

I hope that you enjoy your 610 as much as I have mine

Use some Flitz SS cleaner and see how you like it afterwards before you take a more drastic approach.

For some stubborn areas you can try a bit of Mother's Mag Polish.
