Updated Letter of Authenticity
I am purchasing a pistol that has a Letter of Authenticity included with it and is made out to the seller. Could you tell me the procedure for having the "Letter" updated so that it is in my name. Thanks for the help.

Just a guess, but wouldn't the best way be to get a noterized/certified statement or letter from the seller attesting to the transfer of the firearm in question and the "Letter of Authenticity" to you? That would keep the chain going without modifying the original document.

I have quite a few S&Ws with letters addressed to other collectors. I usually don't update them, but if I did, I would have to request a letter on the S&W in question and pay the regular fee.

Update
Bill,
Thanks for the information. I couldn't remember if I read that the option was available or not. Best,

As Bill said, you'd have to submit for a whole new letter. There has never been an option available.

I have a Elvis TCB S&W that I recently purchased. It was the 2nd Elvis TCB that I purchased. The first 1 came with a COA. I contacted America Remembers and they said I would have to have the original owner contact them. Does anyone have any idea on how to find the original owner?
