I have a model 10, c977320, I believe it's a '67. Are you guys up to '67 '68 time frame with the digitizing of the records. I'd really like to get more than just the shipping date and features.

Not sure of what more than exact ship date, destination, and factory features "as shipped" you are looking for.

There are several steps to obtaining information from the Historical Foundation as I understand it, but the Letter of Authenticity from SWHF (Dr. Roy Jinks - Historian) is first and foremost. The Letter usually describes the history of the type or Model, then has information about your exact serial number, including date it was shipped, where it was shipped, and the configuration (barrel, finish, grips, special sights, etc.) it was shipped from the factory.

If there exists a copy of the original invoice to the original ordering party, and if you are a Member of SWCA and SWHF, it is included with the Letter.

If there does exist additional correspondence having to do with your exact serial number you can contact the SWHF with a request to research for further documentation and it is my understanding that there is a fee for copies of any documentation found, but you must have already obtained the Letter before you can request additional documentation.

I have Lettered many of my collection and below posting 3 that came back with copies of the invoice, others both really old (1901 and 1915) and many more modern (1977, 1980) came back noted "no invoice available".

Here is a prior post in this subforum that states the SWHF has digitized records to 1967:

However, there may be no records on your particular gun. If the letter of authenticity shows it shipped to LTV that may be all that can be found about its history.

We have records through 1967, but only invoices post WW II. A research of your revolver may yield a copy of the invoice, but it will basically tell you when and where the gun was shipped, the number of guns in the shipment, and the prices charged to the distributor.
