SWHF Waiting time
I purchased a Roy Jinks historical letter on 18th March 2020 so over three months ago. This was paid via PayPal and cleared.
Do you reckon it's still progressing? And roughly when can I expect it to arrive?
Kind Regards,
Dan

I sent in a C/C for mine at about the same time. Sent some color pics, also, to clarify one or two areas of the pistol I was referring to. From what I've gathered in reading like threads is that 6mos would seem to be about par, so Septembrish, for bofus.

Is there an ETA for letters sent in early April? I thought for sure I'd get it by now.

Me too. I sent mine in on April 6. I did just see a thread where the request was sent around March 26 and reply received today. Makes me feel better. I did a USPS MO, so I don’t have a way of telling if it was cashed yet. Next one will definitely be a check or paypal.

Thanks! I never knew you could check on them. I got home and dug out the receipt and checked it. It has been cashed, but it doesn’t give me a date. At least I know they received it, cashed it, and I’m in the queue.

Sent mine in 3/6 still do not have a letter. I don't understand how some letters take only a couple of weeks but others are 3 or 4 months or longer.

For all of you that are newer members I would just say that there was a huge backlog of letter requests so new requests were not allowed for a period of time. The minute they opened it up they were deluged with requests. There are two people that do these. So I would say to please be patient. Some of these requests require research that takes awhile. But you’ll get them sooner or later. Hope this helps.

I mailed my request 2/7/22.
They cashed my check 2/22/22.
I have yet to receive anything. I would not have written anything but I logged on to the Colt Forum this morning to find this lucky fellow who waited only three weeks.
A .38 Special for the TVA | Colt Forum
As such I would be curious to know where I stand in the queue.

Well it appears the squeaky wheel gets the grease after all.
My letter arrived today, dated May 25th.

Justin, was your gun an antique or a very new gun (alphanumeric serial number in the form of ABC1234)?

An alphanumeric serial from 1985.
That said I have to open a thread on the gun as the information in the letter is different from that listed in the Standard Catalog and conventional wisdom.

That doesn't cut it. I am a air conditioning contractor and we deal with same day service. If you don't you are out of business because there are many other companies that will take your place.

Yep those of us that are following the wait times already know that you kick out 5-6 jobs every day. How many S&W Letters are received every day?
In the lab I can process everything I need to complete every day things plus the unexpected tests that come in. Sometimes more tests are required and in those cases I work methodically faster with the same degree of integrity, professionalism and expedience. If I had another he/she/them that could assist the results would be quicker.
If I can’t run a particular test I’ll refrigerate and or even freeze the sample. Those are federally approved and required requirements for validity of the sample results.
I’m just trying to explain that sometimes it’s not the expedience of the results/data but the exactness of the results that are achieved. Sometimes results/answers take time.
Edit to add…
“AC Man”, are you actually waiting for a Letter? I can only assume and hope you are do to your reply’s .
Jim

Good for you! So, you deal with 5 to 10 customers a day and get everything correct! You also work 7 days a week 10 to 12 hours a day. Man your good.
