Belt Buckle Value?
I am going to sell these two buckles but need some idea of their value. I've been out of the loop for several years and have no idea of how much these are now worth. I don't want to ask too much but I don't want to get screwed either.
Top - Unknown. I've seen these around but have no idea who made them. I think I got this one in the 70s or 80s.
Bottom - 1975 "Hostiles" in original box. Never been worn.
Thanks
Ray

Hi Ray!
Both of your buckles are frequently listed on FleaBay.
A quick search should give you some numbers to work with.
Just input; "Smith & Wesson Buckles"
Good Luck!

Thanks George. I looked on Gunbroker and didn't see any. I suppose I'll bite the bullet and log onto Ebay.

Hmmmm. Ebay showed only 3 buckles, none of which are the ones I have. I looked under "All Categories". Did I do something wrong?
Nobody has a guess as their value? Not even a SWAG?

The top buckle has been selling for $5-$10 on ebay.
The Hostiles buckle is one of the more common buckles and
lately has been only bringing $10-$25.
A search for "wesson buckle" came up with 7 of the "Worlds Finest" and 6 Hostiles buckles on eBay.

KO - Thanks. That worked. Ebay has an interesting search function. Would not find Smith & Wesson Buckle but worked for Wesson Buckle.
Looks like a wide range of prices.
Kenny - I think I'll pass on that. Thanks anyway.

Good morning Ray & KO!
When I searched "all catagories" for "smith & wesson buckle" I just got 62 listings!
Now I'm a bit puzzled. I've purchased several S&W buckles on eBay and it seems that there are always quite a few listed.
Oh well . . . it would appear that you've found the needed information and possibly a buyer, Ray.

Yes, there just aren't as many listed as there used to be, and the prices
favor the buyer now instead of the seller. I wish I had gotten some of my
buckles for what they are going for now on eBay.

Be aware, if you are going to be a serious S&W buckle collector, that about 3/4th of the buckles on ebay are not S&W authorized buckles, but rip off copies made in China, India and Pakistan. Authorized and licensed buckles will usually say S&W somewhere on them. Bergamot foundry is a S&W licensee that makes some S&W authorized buckles. Unfortunately their Bergamot logo looks very similar to S&W's logo, and many ebay sellers confuse the two and adverise their buckles as S&W buckles, when they are just one of the 1,000s of other Bergamot buckles that have nothing to do with S&W. I've often wondered if the Bergamot logo was done on purpose. The similiarty with S&W is very close. There are also a lot of patches out there that are not S&W authorized products. Ron
