Default Smith and Wesson Micro 90 Weaponlight

Has anybody actually used one of these? Found them at LGS for $59.99. Claimed 90 lumens and 2 hour run time on one CR2 battery. Are they any good?

My Surefires claim just over 100 lumens and probably don't get more than 30 minutes off of the 2 CR123 batteries.

Just purchased a Walther PPS and thought this would make a good light if it's decent. I saw the micro light from Insight but it is twice as much.

Any enlightenment would be appreciated. Cannot find one review on these lights. Other than the same stuff the box says repeated over and over.

Thank you,

Terry

I'd like to know too..I am thinking of one for my P2000...I like the single battery and shorter design...too many lights stick way to far out for my tastes....seems like a good deal if it works well.

I've been curious about these as well. On the exterior it looks a lot like a rebranded Nitescout Micron30. I was able to find one review online from an actual user, but all that person had to say about it was that they didn't like the fact that it is not quick detachable.

I just got one this week. Its a good little light and it works well lighting up a dark room and/or blinding someone. The beam spreads out instead of being intensely focused on a small area.
There is a push button on both sides for momentary light, and a full time on/off switch on the bottom that can be pushed either direction (off is in the center). It does take one battery... I can't tell you how long it lasts because I haven't used it much yet. I'm still waiting for my flashlight holster to carry it at work (I'm a police officer).

This light is not easily detached. You slide it on the rails and most weapons will have a groove or notch on the rail. This light has a hole through it and you put the "rod" through the light and the notch on the rail and that holds it in place.

This light fits my Glock and my Springfield XD45. Below is a pic of my XD45. I like it better on the XD45 because there are two notches, and you can make the light stick out or stay flush with the end of the barrel. If you look closely, you can see another notch on my rails in front of the light. I believe the Glocks also have a notch (I don't recall), but I remember it was a snug fit and took some effort to get on, so you wouldn't need the notch if you didn't have it on your Glock. Hope this helps.

I have one on my 9c, went on easy stays put with the "pin". It didn't work with my Sig p250 though. So be sure of your application.
Controls are intuitive but a bit of a reach (for me anyway). Light is bright and will easily fill a room. Size is compact and weight doesn't throw off the balance. Battery life is hard to determine a few minutes at a time but I'd say that 2 hour run-time is about right. Changing the battery is easy and they aren't too expensive. The light doesn't run too hot.
Great on the M&Pc platform. I would definitely buy again.

I've had one on my M&P 45 for over a year.
Actually bought the light 6 to 8 months before I bought the
gun. I had it on a Glock model 30SF until I got the M&P 45.
Just put it on my M&P 40 last week. Started carrying the
.45 more and using the 40 for a bedside gun.
I haven't shot it with the 40 yet. It held up well while on the
.45 though. The 40 is a snappier recoil where as the .45 is more
of a push so it remains to be seen whether it holds up to the 40
or not.
Only complaint I have with it is the way it goes on and off your
weapon. My Glock light mount is so much easier to use and
work. Wish S&W would make a change in there's to mimic the
Glock light mounting system.

One came with my SD9 when I bought it. They are nice little lights, bright enough to leave a floating dark spot in your vision if your silly enough to look ay it head on.

I broke the switch off mine carrying it in a soft remora holster. Smith sent me a new one.

I fired 500ish rounds through the SD9 with it on the gun, and it never moved on the rail. The lens gets a bit tinted with powder residue, so you have to clean it with your gun.

I think its one of the best lights under $100. The lens is some kind of hard plastic, the head the holds the lens is aluminum and the main body is plastic, perhaps the same stuff the lower part of the gun is made from. The switches are basic molded plastic. Even after I snapped off the on off switch the button that turns the light on when you hold it down still functioned.

I have one as well. It is very bright. As for run time have not used it enough to be sure.

Also, mine lost a button of the back. I contacted Smith and they replaced it with a new light.

Good bang for the buck.

I bumped the on switch when putting it in my safe one night, in the morning the light was dim but still on. My guess is that it puts out 200 lumins for 2 hours, but less for much longer. The battery was 6ish dollars I think, available where camera supplies are sold.

It's today's "Deal of the Day" on Sport Woot! - For $37.99 plus $5 shipping, I bought one...for anyone unfamiliar with Woot, they sell one item per day, and when the day is over, it's gone. This is my first Woot purchase, but I've heard good things from friends and couldn't pass up this price....

It's been discontinued apparantly so I suppose you need to find it used.
