Default S&W Knife Box & Sheath

Just bought a S&W knife box complete with unused leather sheath, knife was missing.

Box is identical to the old blue S&W gun boxes.

Handwritten gummed label on the end of the box reads: TR14931.

Sheath would fit a blade just under 1.5" wide and 6" long.

Can anyone identify the knife and/or provide a photos?

What you have is the knife that was produced to go along with the Texas Ranger. There were a bunch of knives that were shipped with the gun and had a matching serial number. There were also a bunch that were made with just the knife and leather sheath. Not sure which yours is, but the TR in the serial number stands for Texas Ranger.

Default TR knife

The "loose" knives that didn't accompany a handgun were in a walnut presentation case with the Texas Ranger emblem "woodburned" into the lid. I can send you a photo. I have the entire collection of Blackie Collins knives new in boxes as well as the dealer wood and glass presentation case for the complete set.

Default Knife sheath & box

Found these photos.

My sheath & box are just like these.

Found the sheath & box at an estate sale.

The wooden box and knife must have already sold.
