S & W poker chips
I have a few of these chips. They are well made, like the ones in Casino's not the plastic type. Can anyone tell me why they were issued and are they worth anything?

Hi Pumaonly:
S&W had poker chips in the Texas Hold-em set with the machine engraved Model 36. They (or someone under license) also issued two seperate poker sets in an al. case with cards and dice.

I sold a poker set with the aluminum case for 100 bucks. Everything was mint and had never been used. The chips in this set seemed to be weighted and of "casino" quality. The guy that owns it uses it for his weekly games.

If emmory serves me right (it probably doesn't) there were 1000 sets of the chips, cards, & dice in the aluminum case. We have one set, NIB. Kinda, sorta neat. J.R. Weems & his story about his son's initals is pretty sharp.

The original ad says limited edition 1 of 2000, so 2000 made and likely a bunch of ov er-runs.

You never bought yourself a Texas Hold'em?
I thought they were a great value when they came out. I think it was just a couple hundred more than a plain 36 at the time. Hard to believe these came out roughly a decade ago
