Default S&W Mod 6060 Folding hunter questions

I recently aquired three of the mod 6060 folding hunter knives. One is in mint condition, the other is missing the medalion and the last one I have is cosmeticaly great, but when I try to open it towards the end of the swing I run into some resistance. And when I try to close it, I have to push extremely hard on the lock to close the blade. Does anyone know anything/have any tips about these knifes as far as what could be wrong with it?

Also could any one give me a ballpark on the value of these knives?

Thanks in advance

I was offered a NIB 6060 a couple years ago at a local gun show for $150.00. I passed, then found I could not find a NIB one for less. I ended up buying one from an out of state collector/dealer for the same price.

Don't know if it will help yours, but I put a drop of Rem Oil, or similar light gun oil, on the lock/blade interface where they are sliding metal-to-metal against each other when opening or closing the knife... ymmv

I have a 6060 that after the blade is locked open, to get it to close I have to just about stand on the lock lever to get it to raise up enough to clear the blade so it can rotate... is that what is happening with yours?

As for the resistance when opening, first step, if not done already is a good cleaning and oiling. I use one of those aerosol "air duster" cans to blow the crud out.

That missing medallion... they are the same ones used in grips, find a set of beat up grips on the cheap and harvest the medallions.
