RM Box on Auction Site
FYI...While browsing an auction site today I found this RM box which recently sold for $1300!

I still don't understand the prices that accessories are selling for today. I can only assume that the boxes mentioned were the originals, per serial number, that the revolver shipped from the factory in.

Collectors live in their own special worlds and sometimes other collectors can stand right there and not enter the other's world. I don't understand this either.
But I don't like Impressionist art, either, so what do I know?

I think that due to the mortailty rate of cardboard, the boxes are sometimes valued almost as much as the gun that they came with. Especially with the older guns, if there were 1,000 guns made, there may only be 100 boxes still around.
Demand creates crazy prices.

Best not to have a box. Then you don't have a place to put it. Then you take it out and shoot the living daylights out of it before you die. Then your relatives find a great gun with lots of honest wear, and they say things like, "wow, dad sure did enjoy this gun!"

It does look like a nice example.
You don't run across them every day and as collector, you need a place to keep the $1000 screwdriver.
