Default S&W Rifle Scope ??

I very recently bought a used rifle. It had a S&W 3x9, 1" scope on it. This scope has S&W logos on the scope caps and Smith & Wesson written on the body. The glass is pretty clear and it has 4plex crosshairs. The finish is a dull almost black matt.

I didn't know that S&W ever marketed a rifle scope. Does anyone know who made them for Smith, approximately when were they made, and if they were cheap, medium, or high quality/price?

I have heard they were made by Redfield under a S&W license agreement. Probably of medium + quality. Ed.

The riflescopes were marketed starting around 2003, I do not believe they lasted more than a year or two before they were discontinued.
I have a 3-9 and 3.5-10, and S&W refunded my purchase price on a defective 6-24. At the time (circa 2006) that I bought my scopes I think they were in the $80 to $130 price range from Cheaper Than Dirt, which was about 1/3 of the retail price. I do not know what company made the riflescopes, but they were made in Japan.

I had 2 of these scopes, still have one. Sold the 6-24 on E-Bay to a buyer from Canada and took a loss. Scope was not as good as Leupold-Weaver or a Nikon. Probably why they did not last long in optics business.
