Default All Model Circulars reference

I have found a few older WTB posts where a specific year and type of All Model Circular has been sought to complete a collection.

I would like to know how these people know or can be so sure that they only need the ones requested.

There are so many, I’m guessing maybe upto one hundred different All Model Circulars so for someone to specify 1 and say “to complete my collection” they must have a reference of some sort to work from.

Is there a publication or reference that lists all the All Model Circulars?

There is no reference and you are correct about there being so many with various price effective dates. Roy Jinks has the most complete collection and may have all the circulars, but even he may not know for sure.

I have quite a few from the 1950s that I use for reference, but I know I don't have all of them.

Jamie, I'm not aware of a reasonably complete reference, or listing, of the all model circulars. Perhaps you could put such an endeavor on your bucket list? Comparison of different versions can be done by locating the print date codes, usually on the bottom of the last page, but not always, and the time the models shown were announced by the factory as being available. Copies of the annual corporate reports of S&W for the years the AMCs were produced are also a handy reference, as they were often included ( together with announcements of new models) with the annual report copies mailed to stock holders. Ed.

Thanks
I also have a few from the 1950s and have a lot still to get, I expect the total variations from 1950-59 to be over 40 maybe even pushing 50.

I started a list a few years ago to help me collect them all however for each one I add to the collection I add another to the to get list. I thought if the list is already out there I can toss my notes.

I have 4 types from 1959 and thought that was it, then looking through my notes found another 2 that I did not have, there may be others. 1951 is simular I have 3 types with one I know I don’t have. When I seen the posts I thought great I need the reference they are using so I know where I’m up to, oh well back to my note book.

A few months ago I purchased an AMC dated in 1958 that was made for the market in Canada. It is the only one like it I have seen.

Thanks I’ll remove it from to get list.
The 1959 is the only Canadian circular that I know of, in the 50s that is, there was one on ebay earlier this year in April or May that sold for around $50. I cannot remember if the seller would not post to Australia or if I was outbid either way I didn’t get it.

Would it be possible to get a scanned copy, for reference purposes?
