I found this, its a 37mm flare/gas launcher. Its a "tru-flite" made by great lakes chemical company. I heard it was made in rock creek ohio by smith and wesson. Anyone know anything?

I have a pre model 40 from 1956 and the sales receipt was from Lake Erie Chemical. It was sold to a Sergeant in the Cleveland PD. I had heard they were mainly into selling gas masks, flare guns and other non standard weapons and survival gear.
I live in the Cleveland area. Here is the receipt. Is this the company or is it Great Lakes Chemical? The title and post have 2 different companies.
