Default Smith & Wesson Knurled Sight Adjustment Tool Question

I wasn't sure where to post this question. This looked the best spot. I recently came across a vintage S&W sight adjustment tool. Read what I can find on the forum and absorbed a really good post by member firearmsunlimited who gave a GREAT run down here: Sight Adjustment Tool Identification (screwdrivers) - Smith & Wesson Forum

So from what I can tell the tool below is a 3 1/2" knurled, 9 band, nickel plated, blued shaft in excellent condition. It's not perfect, but darn close. From the excellent historical post this must be a 1940-1948 piece? It's not the right "color" to be aluminum. It has that slightly yellowish cast you see on old nickel plated revolvers, & its quite heavy.

I know the shorter 7 band nickel plated are worth quite a bit more, but wondering if the $75 bucks I paid was a good deal? Just wondering about its current value if I encounter a trade deal that makes sense? Any thoughts?

I don't think you got hurt at $75. That's about what it's worth on today's market to most collectors, give or take ten bucks. Yes, it's a post war era item, although I think a few still found their way into presentation cases in the 50s. Ed.
