Performance Center Potato Launcher
At the S&WCA meeting in 1995 at the factory, there was a contest between departments to build the world`s finest potato launcher. Unfortunately, the Performance Center was not invited, however, they found out and delivered what I call the Ferrari of potato launchers. This unit had a bipod, the Performance Center logo, electronic ignition, and a laser scope. I would have bought it, but I had no way to ship it home. If anyone knows what happened to it, I would love to own it. Dave Miller

Welcome to the Forum. The Potato Launcher at the meeting was auction off to the high bidder, It was Serial No. 1. I don't recall it having a connection to the Performance Center, however the high bidders name should be listed in the Auctions results info. in the S&WCA Journal published after the meeting. I would have seriously bid on it also, if I could have figured out how to get it in my carry on bag for the flight home. It stood about 5 ft. high on it's tripod and the barrel was about 6 ft. long. I think Roy Jinks said it was made by his department and it won the contest for launching a potato the farthest. Ed.

Dave, The fall 1995 issue of the S&WCA Journal lists Herb Belin, of S&W, as the donor of "S&W Spud Gun, Md 1, Grand Champion of the 1994 Spud Bowl" sold to high bidder Bob Hart. Ed.

While you are at it, could you get a picture or two, sir?
I'm sure I am not the only one who would like to see it.
Thanks!

I love the smell of French Fries in the morning.
It smells like victory.
