I had one of these that was stolen from my apartment in the 80s, and I've never recovered. Boy that photo brings back memories! Anyway, I've never seen a 63 no-dash that came with the newer box. It's an astounding gun, and back in the late 70s and early 80s you had to either know somebody or get on a long waiting list to get one.
If someone sold you that gun as the original with that box, I think a renegotiation is in order (if you paid a premium price). I'm only glad the crooks that got my gun didn't get the original wood grips.
