Default Smith Wesson Factory Cabinet

Has anyone ever seen one of these before? I haven't, but they must have or still exist in some gun shops. It was on Ebay, and I bought it. I have a 11 piece collection of Lew Horton Serial Numbered alike with 0006 that will fill most of the 18 slots. I enjoy my shooters and the collector pieces too. I don't plan on doing anything with the Lews but looking at them, so this fits the bill!

If anybody knows where another one of these is or another serial number 0006 is, please PM me.

Thanks

bwade

I do need to post the pics of each of the Lews and will post pics of the cabinet if it works as I hope. It may be a display from some other type of Smith product like Ed suggested, but I think it will be strong enough for the Lews. I should receive the cabinet sometime next week and will try to get some photos by next weekend... You never can tell about these Ebay auctions, but seller made the price reasonable, so why not try it and see. I tried to find another online to see the exact use of it, but can't find one using all kinds of search terms and looking at a bunch of display cabinet photos. I may have to reinforce it to hold those N frames, but Plexiglas is usually pretty tough.

Also, I posted the Lews a few months back on here:
Serial numbers alike

They are in a group photo instead of nice individual photos though. Maybe a rainy day photo project ahead I guess.

Default Instructions for use

I did not post this picture or read it either at first, but I have it now, it is a pistol cabinet as the seller advertised! Got lucky, this thing was apparently made to hold handguns.

I've seen one of those in a gun shop, but now I can't remember where! There's a similar one for Browning shotguns in an LGS not far from me. Great find!

I bought it from a picker in Alabama that sells on Ebay, there is also a number on the instructions to Smith and Wesson. I wonder if Smith will sell there factory displays to non-dealers or maybe to a dealer? I know they have super large displays at the IACP conventions and the Shotshows. These smaller displays may be available direct from them, I would bet they have all kinds of goodies around. If I was in their marketing department, I would push to contract for all kinds of display stuff to be made for the collectors out there.

I look constantly for non-gun Smith Wesson factory products, there are several Chinese knock off products, but little original factory products. Posters, knives, pictures, a clock or two, bar stools and belt buckles. Past that, very, very little available for the hungry man caves! Maybe somebody affiliated with company will read this post.

I own one that I purchased at a SWCA meeting. It IS for handguns and there should be different holders inside for revolvers and semi autos. There are wheels under the front edge that allow you to rotate the columns so you may view all of the guns as it turns.

James, you are spot on and lucky to have acquired one of these too. I have not put my guns in it yet, but plan on it. I contacted the manufacturer of it and if Smith authorized another batch, they said they make 250 units as the minimum order now. The said it would be about $400 each ($100,000) for the order, but only if Smith and Wesson authorized it. Don't guess there will be too many more made and we have a keeper! Post some photos of yours if you get a chance.
