Pistol case Information needed
Hello to All from a new member.
I am seeking information on a S&W case that contained a M&P Target. The case is press moulded from some sort of composite material blue in color with the S&W logo pressed in the top. the interior is moulded for the revolver and some other contents and is coated with a sort of fine flock. 2 small brass hinges and a set in sliding brass catch. size aprox 14" x6" I have been unable to find out anything about this so any information would be gratefully received.
Thanks in advance TJ.

That case is the so called " Salesman's Case " circa late 40s, early 50s. It was never put into regular production for various reasons. Examples show up occasionally at gun shows and auctions. The have value only as curios. Collector's call it the Salesman's case, but no factory info. ties it to that use. Ed.

I would like to know how an unusual item like that ended up in the UK. Hence I only have the case now and No M&P Target or Hand Ejector. Goverment intervention did for them

S&W made an unknown number of these cases and then dumped them on the surplus market in the 1950s when the decision was made not to use them as a factory product. S&W collector's are everywhere on the globe, so how an oddity like one of these cases got to the UK can probably be blamed on a collector who either acquired it on a trip to the USA or picked it up off an online auction.
