Default Question on SAT's

I am looking for a SAT for a K22 from 1950. I believe the correct one is blued with the knurled handle. My question is, what is the difference in the number of "rings" on the handle? I've seen 8 and 9 ring examples but I don't which one would be correct.

Off hand, I don't know, but I would go with the 9 ring as some of some of the replicas are 8 ring, but I've never seen a 9 ring repo. Actually, I don't think the factory paid a lot of attention to which SAT went with the gun, they just took what ever was in stock at the time the gun was made. Ed.

I read / heard somewhere that some of the SATs were contracted out, and the rows of knurling varied....

Thanks for the information. I was leaning towards the 9 ring and I think I'll stick with that.
