Info/Value on Complete Smith Wesson Knife Set in Store Display bowie, survival, etc
Hi,
Was wondering what this 5 piece set of Smith Wesson knifes would bring? Original owner claimed this is the Rare store display for it as well which could not be purchased. All of the knives are in New Condition and looks near perfect to perfect condition and all have the original blue boxes and paperwork and sheath for each knife. Wants 1,500 for everything. Just wondering if it's worth that. Any info appreciated.

I did some looking on some auction and knife sites, and can't imagine those knives going for more than $100 each . . . It's a very nice collection, but $1,500? Not there . . .

It will take a real "collector" to tell you if that is a good price; or not!
Nice set!!

There were a lot of S&W knives and knife sets put out over many years.
I'm not an expert but bought a few knives of similar quality.
Personally I would offer $300 max. for the whole set and no more.
($50 each & $50 for case)

The Folding Hunter usually brings $75-$100, the fixed blade knives $125-$150 each. Values as listed in the 3rd Edition Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson are considerably higher. I would say $800 is a realistic value for the set with display case.

$1500.00 is high for the 5 knife set. If it were the 7 knife set, it would pretty close. $800.00 would be the most I would pay. These are very scarce in this condition.

Remember, these were actually made at Smith & Wesson. In the future they will be worth alot more. If I had the extra cash, I would, no pun intended, bite the bullet and buy this set.

$1,500 is top retail right now, but they will go up as time passes. I don't know where you can buy a similar set for any less. Ed.

They are a functional work of Art. I have the survival and skinner. I use the skinner all the time. I bought it loose at a gun show and found a sheath I love at a knife show. Not original, but I bought the knife as an EDC when working on my property. It just has the right feel in my hands.
Trying to buy others of the S&W Survival series and American Series in the late 70's- 80's.
If you kno of ones, even loose without sheath, let me know.

This thread is a year old but I would think that $50 for the S&W knife display case is very cheap. Usually the case alone will bring $100 from a collector.
