Default Question on S&W Cuffs

I have an older pair of cuffs that bit the dust (rust).

I noticed that the new pair I got has exposed rivets. After digging, it appears S&W changed from brazing to riveting the cuffs a few years back.

Is there any benefits to the rivets vs. my older brazed sets, and is one better than the other?

Thanks guys

The exposed rivets are for extra security. It was changed in 1981 or 1982. The old way could be popped open. Peerless changed there design in about 2000 or so.
