Default S&W Correct period box

I think I am posting in the right area. I have a S&W Model 60-4 of about 1995 vintage. Can someone tell what box it would have been sold in? Cardboard or plastic and maybe a picture of that box? I wouldn't mind trying to find one if possible. The info on the end isn't important. Thanks in advance.

I believe a 1995 gun would be blue plastic with the S & W logo, flat sides, not the later (current) style with ridges. See the attachment (no, the box is not original to the gun...). Hope this is helpful.

Don't know if this will help you with the S&W Box History.....But.
I have S&W Combat 19/38-357/ 6"barrel form 1974.( shoot it monthly)
At that time, they came in a dark blue cardboard box ( Very strong with
medal clips on the sides ) I still have both and have no intention of selling.
Was at a gun show last week and ask about the 19. They said about $500.Its not in excellent condition I would say good to very good.
The box also. I mentioned the box and they said that's worth money also. The box worth money ?? Wow. Who would have guessed??

I

A rule of thumb that works, is "the older the gun, the more the box is worth" and it doesn't take a genius to figure out what. Most shooters threw away the box almost before they got their gun out of the store. I ran a gun store for about 25 yrs from the 50s to the 80s, and many buyers didn't want their boxes, so I tossed them in a barrel in the attic. I closed the store in 1985 when partner retired and later sold off those boxes online, many for more than the original gun cost! Ed.
