The copper will bring about 1.3 cents as scrap, so you're already ahead about 30% on your investment's value! Go for it ! Ed.

Here is something you learn in plumbing school. As previously pointed out 1981 is the last year of the solid copper penny. Copper melts at 1981 degrees Fahrenheit.

Now there's a conspiracy for you.
In Germany Maurerdekolleté is used, which can be translated as "builder's/mason's cleavage".
So it's easily established that a secret society, intent on ruling the world through controlling the copper supply AND the value of the US penny
have given themselves away by this hidden code.
The Plumbers! They're coming to rule the world.

Jim, just like the Hunt brothers attempted to do with silver. Ya remember how well that worked out for them? At the time I had a Lt. who thought he was way above the curve. He went heavy in silver ingots. The smart money stayed away, or got out early. Lt. above the curve lost his fanny. Sad story, but he was one of those smug ***'s who needed to be taken down a peg or two.

I wouldn't mind having a few of those. But I won't drive to Ohio to get them. Too bad I can't find any online...

My wife has a flattened penny collection , she gets them every place we go. Going to look for those at all the big Outdoor and Sporting Goods places I go to around here. There are several.
COOL !

The boys & I started that when they were little. I found my collection, in 35mm film canisters, in my desk drawer not long ago. Made me smile.
