Hi All !
Advice is needed from those more knowledgeable than I on this subject -
While I collect knives - Elishewitz, Emerson, Terzuola (custom and production ), kabars etc. I never gave much thought to S&W.
So lo and behold at my local shop they were kind enough to hold for me three knives - 2 S&W and 1 Browning.
The S&W's are the Skinner and the Survival, no boxes, never used or sharpened that I can see. The survival has a small split by the pommel on the underside. The guard is soldered to the blade !
I love the look of the survival and the blade shape reminds me of a Randall. It is stamped 1975. I have looked around a bit and I see wildly differing values for them across books and the net.
What do you think the market bears for these? I am inclined to scoop them up as the seller wants $ 150 for the skinner and $ 125 for the survival and add them to the collection. But without boxes etc. I am not so sure the value he is asking is there - I am not sure, so if you could enlighten me that would be great!
The last one he has is a Browning Bowie style in a box - with elaborate etching. This one I have not seen yet - someone has it and is 'researching' it. But according to the seller he called browning and they have no record of a factory etching on that model - anyone maybe know anything about it?
Pics I know will help and will get to them when I can.
