New OTF for the wife.
Guide me my brothers. The OTF my wife carried for years has broken. No, I cannot fix it. So. If you had to buy a replacement for your spouse, what would you buy? Reliability & durability are key. Price? Well, start low (under 50.00) and go up.
Ah, sharpen (groan) your thoughts & suggestions.
Thank you all in advance.

If you can tell me what an OTF is, maybe I can give an opinion.

OTF is a knife whose blade slides out co-axially with the grip, rather than swinging out radially.

I think Stanley makes an OTF razor knife for about $2.98 at Lowes or Home Depot.

That's definitely a bit out of the $50 range that the OP mentioned. Lol.
Auto knives will be legal where I am soon and I plan on picking one up in the near future. I'm probably going to get a normal, side opening model and not an OTF. My budget will likely be somewhere around $200 give or take. My current EDC is a Benchmade that I really like so I'll probably check out their offerings first.

I have had wonderful service from "Bladeops" they ship free and the price is very reasonable. I honestly cringe at the thought of a $50.00 budget for something as important as a knife for your wife! Just saying.... Kyle

I bought a Lightning from Blade Play a few years ago. I paid $40 for it. It's looks rough, but holds an edge pretty good and the blade is "lightning" fast in and out. I also have a Benchmade, there is an obviously notable difference between the 2, but not a $360 difference.
Lightning OTF Knives for sale - Blade Play
$40 Lightning on the left, $400 Benchmade on the right.

I'd been wanting one for years, but the thought I could add another gun for $400 always kept me from buying one.
Then I got to lay hands on one at a local gun shop...it took every fiber in my body to leave that day without one.
Went back 2 days later and got it. Zero regrets.

If you buy a Benchmade or Microtech, be careful of clones.
The $40 Lightning is kinda a copy of a Microtech, but obviously not a clone. I've heard it's hard to tell the difference between the real Bench's, and Micro's, and the fakes.
