Default Given a S&W folder.

A friend, (not a gun person) was at the house yesterday. He gave me a S&W assisted folder. It is called a "Special Ops", blade is a 1/4'' shy of 4''. Blade is non serrated. Knife looks relatively new. Looks well made but a bit heavy, made in China.

I'm not too knowledgeable about knives. Any info you might have would be appreciated! Best bet it is not legal to carry here in the peoples republic of NY.

Sounds like you have one of Taylor Cutlery's knives made in China. Taylor was the former knife making licensee of S&W, and was recently bought by American Outdoor Brands, the parent company of S&W. Taylor made many 100s of knives for S&W, some of which were selected by S&W to be in the S&W accessory catalogs. Many were not, and these show up on the 2ndary knife markets for a few dollars and areoften worth the money, although the Chinese made S&W knives have mixed quality. Ed.
