Default Ivory Grips not sure model or value

We got these grips from a great aunt. Her husband was in WW2 in the navy. My own research shows these may come from a Victory Revolver. Looking for info to confirm or dismiss and any possible value. They have a great finish with 2 small chips. They are signed by the maker as well.

I use ImgBB. They grab pictures real fast right from your own pictures file but does not retain them in a library for you themselves.

Good going. If you register at that photo site your pictures show up without others having to click on the link to see them. But this worked out good.

They're probably for a K frame revolver, maybe an N-frame. Could have originally been for an N frame and shrunk over time as ivory has a tendency to do. Likely not factory original but most weren't. You'll have to try them on a K or N frame S&W to know for sure.

If you measure the straight bottom edge of the stock panel and it is 1 3/4", K frame; if 1 7/8", N frame. The direct way to know is to put them on a gun and see what they fit .

Of course. The problem is the legality of selling Ivory. The law was recently changed, so you probably want to research it. I'm not sure what you can or can't do?

Law has been interpreted to mean that you can't sell it across state lines. At least that is what I have seen in the knife world. Not many knives being advertised for sale with ivory anymore on the interweb.

I would guess N frame because of the area behind the stock circle. No need to be real concerned with the chip. If it bothers you too much find a friendly dentist to fill it with the epoxy they use on teeth. I think the $250 guess is pretty low. I'd think $400 would be a reasonable amount to charge. Except ivory buyers are kind of finicky. They'll want to test fit them to a gun before paying.

N frame is my guess too, but I wouldn't go $400 for chipped ivory grips. $250 is more like it. I bought a similar N frame set recently for $300 - no chips.
