As I'm getting little older, am going thru and cleaning out many things I have had put up for years. Forgot I had these...best I can remember were taken off a new gun 25-30 years ago and just put away. These grips are K Square - they have silver washers - and are stamped "Smith & Wesson Handgun Grip Co". Being 64, I believe I recall that silver washers were stopped being used somewhere in the 80s. The very little I can find on S&W Grip Co, is that when S&W stopped making grips in the 80s (exact year unknown - to me), some employees formed this company & it operated for a number years & at some point Altamont bought out this company, and has been making S&W's grips since. I even emailed these photos to my contact (Paul) at S&W this morning, and described the above, to see if he could shed any more light on these...and his reply was I had as much information as he knew on this topic. Are there any members here who may have a good knowledge of the history on S&W Grips, when silver medallions were used (years), about S&W Gun Grip Co, how old this set may be, etc. Thanks very much!
