Default New to me S&W 6080 knife and box

I was rolling through different guns on the internet last week and came across this. I am not a huge knife guy, but I do have a S&W knife brand new in box from the 70s a (6060). So I figured for $40 this would be a nice match to my early 80s guns as well. The boxes look cool in the rifle cabinet top shelf as a display I think.

I just picked up a 6084 and 6085, both as new in the box with sheaths in unused condition as well. They were marked at $25 each and they were items from an estate sale at a local gunshop. (I also picked up a couple of as-new Case fixed blade knives, without sheathes unfortunately, as well as an as-new older Buck **110** folder with sheath.)

I guess they may be worth a little bit more, but I really picked them up for the nostalgia. My son claimed the 6085 as the box is in better condition and has the warranty card and rectangular white top cardboard cover. (The goober fancies himself as a junior knife collector.)

You got a good deal tenntex32! Amazing how you can come across these gems in perfect shape still in the box from years past. My favorite and one for you to be on the lookout for is a 6060. They came in an identical lottle blue box like the revolvers. I stumbled across mine and bought for $40 with no knowledge whatsoever about it. I just liked the box!!

He had a longer narrow dark blue box similar to your 6060 box with just a S&W marked sheath in it. (No knife with it inside the box) The box had a TR prefixed number on a small white tag on one end. I should have taken a picture of it while I was there.

Am I correct in thinking S&W probably would not have offered just a replacement sheath only in such a nice box......yes?
