Smith & Wesson Cue sticks ??? Pictures added
10/1/18, 8AM EDT,added some quick cell phone pix.
Odd happening today. After scrounging for S&W goodies as long as I can remember, once in awhile you meet some interesting people. Many years back an ad in the old GunList magazine for a S&W New Model 3 Stock (New In Box) brought me to the home of the retired owner of Rex Firearms from NYC now then in Florida.
A few days back I was referred to a gent with assorted S&W, non-gun, goodies. I went by to see and buy some odds and ends that included some poker chip sets and about 300 loose poker chips with Dollar Values of $1, $5, $10 & $25.
Then he shows me a S&W Cue stick. He shows (and gifts me) a catalog he said was about 15 years old by Leisure Pursuits Sales & Marketing LLC, Wayne, NJ and says he had owned the company before he sold out a few years back to retire.
This pool cue is a USA made American Heritage type. It is gorgeous and feels nice to hold. I took a gamble and purchased it as his ask price. In fact, after paying for the other items that were pre-negotiated, I had little cash remaining. He trusted me to take it and send him the $ when I got home, which (of course) I did.
I've been collecting S&Ws for over 30 years and have owned S&Ws (before I started collecting) 45 years ago and I've NEVER seen a S&W pool cue.
Don't get me wrong, it is very, very, nice however, it's no Szamboti ...but it is certainly "nice enough".
Who knows more about these ? He emphasized "these" were made in the USA while other made later where imports.

Sal, what about a picture?? I've never heard of one either. But that doesn't surprise me, as I've not kept up with non gun items.
Best Regards, Les

Les, was lazy last night. I added a few quick cell phone pix. Excuse the lousy quality of the pictures. Sal

Pool Cue at Baton Rouge... Woz...
I had my one-and-only Smith & Wesson pool cue on display in its S&W pool cue carrying case (complete with pocket for chalk) at the S&WCA Symposium held in Baton Rouge Louisiana where the theme was "Ladies and Gamblers".
I found this URL for the S&W billiard line release that apparently happened in 2004. I hope this helps.

I've never seen a Smith and Wesson pool cue before, but I've been in a few pool parlors were Smith and Wesson products were the norm.

I have two of these that I've had for years. Used to shot pool at a friends every Thursday night so these saw some use, especially the heavier of the two. They held up well and I like them quite a bit. Not to mention that it gave me more opportunity to shoot a Smith!
I get a chance I'll post some pics.

Mike, Excellent response ! He didn't have the case for the stick I purchased. Can you post some pix that I can look for a similar or exact style case ? Thank you, Sal
If not I'll have to purchase a generic hard case.

Sal, I bought my sticks on ebay individually and they did not come with a case. I picked up a generic two stick case to keep them in. I'll try to post pics of the sticks tomorrow.

How do I know if my S & W cue is made in USA or import? Also, I do believe I'm missing the weight system. Where can I find that? I've had stick for 15 yrs-ish just found out about adjustable weight!

I saw one with Smith and Wesson’s faces on the butt, once.
Feel free to make your own jokes.
I’ve never seen another, thanks for sharing, OP !

Without seeing the joint and threads, I looks a lot like an early McDermott cue, possibly an Adams......

My S & W cue
Titanium ferrule. We think graphite shaft. But, like I said, missing the AVWS. As soon as I figure out how to post a pic, I'll do that. Also, no faces (lol) but calligraphy SW on butt.
