Smith & Wesson Belt Buckle Information Request
My wife got me a S&W belt buckle for Christmas. I have seen several of the 70's vintage belt buckles, but not this one before. I checked my old S&W catalogs and didn't see one like this either. The seller said it was 70's vintage.
That is what I know about it. I'm just wondering if someone else has seen this model before and know about when it was made. It may be a non-licensed model too, but I can't be sure.
Thanks for your help.

Looks like a knock off as all my buckles have some factory documentation on back

I was thinking that too, but there is also some stamped text on the back that is worn off and may have said more about who made it and when. Either way I like the way it looks and its sturdy. It will do its job.

It's a copy of one of S&W's more popular buckles. Probably from Asia or the Middle East. Not a S&W factory buckle or a buckle from an authorized vendor. Having said that, it's still says "Smith & Wesson" so wear it and enjoy! Ed. (Plus the source makes it priceless!)

I agree it's a knock off. The lack of the name on the reverse side is a dead giveaway. However, enjoy it.

I've got one like it, probably had it since the '80s. Wear it with pride! Very few people will know that it wasn't sold by S&W. It will weigh you down a bit.
